"Grand reopening planned for Luxe and Esthetix salon and spa"

Marina Gaytan, Visalia Times-Delta - July 8, 2015

For the owners of Luxe and Esthetix salon, running a full-time business is all about meeting their clients’ needs. Right now, it’s not about investing in a brand new building, but investing in top quality products and services has been top priority lately.

It was late last year when Suzy Renteria and Lisa Murillo joined forces to combine their 20-plus years of service under one roof.

Now, the salon is having a grand reopening from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, at 116 N. Willis St., where they will be offering up discounts on services and products. The salon will also be giving away points for their rewards program as well a chance to win a full set of lashes and a facial.

For Renteria, opening her own salon in 2010 was her only answer to having a place she could call home. At that time she was pregnant and her husband told her she would benefit so much more had she been on her own, Renteria said.

So she opened Ts3 Lash and Skin Lounge. She said she became so busy that she moved to the Willis location. She also brought her cousin, Murillo, with 20-plus years of experience on board to manage the salon side of the business.

“I was in the treatment room 80 percent of the time I couldn’t run it out there,” Renteria, 38, said of the salon. “I had three girls in the salon area and it wasn’t fair for them, or me. I was getting pulled out from the treatment room all the time and it was impeding on my customers.”

Now she has things structured like a family she said. Murillo owns the full-service salon, while Renteria runs her esthetician side. The salon also features products from the eyelash supplier Xtreme Lashes, applied by local certified lash artists.

On the salon side, the blow-dry bar is also a highlight, the owners said.

“Lisa and I are concerned about the details,” Renteria said. “We would rather invest in top quality products for our clients than in a brand new building. Our salon is structured in a certain way to ensure that staff and clients feel valued and know they are receiving the most caring salon experience out there.”

As for Murillo, coming out of a Visalia salon she worked out for 20 years was bittersweet. She said she loved her job, her coworkers and, most importantly, her clients but she needed something new.

“Deep inside for a year I had been thinking about something different,” Murillo, 43, said. “I was really torn because I never really had those feelings before.”

But once arriving at the new salon, Murillo said she couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome.

“I feel safe here,” she explained. “I get along with all the girls and I love the idea of having my own space.”

Murillo said the intimate setting of the salon is perfect for those who want a more private space to get services done.

Luxe and Esthetix offers eyelash and eyebrow extension, organic facials, clinical face peels, massages, airbrush and makeup applications, waxing and a full-service salon.

They also use a virtual receptionist so clients can make appointments and get messages to the artists at any time of the day.
